Everything You Need to Get Started with Your FLEXBAR | How to choose one plus the EXERCISES
i’m struggling after 4weeks, i am still unable to straighten my leg..will this improve ?
Hi sir it was very nice good
Great explanation skills. So many videos are too fast and don’t provide clear instructions, and this is perfect !!!
I've had right medial meniscus pain for over 13 months and it has gotten to the point where I can no longer do the quad, hamstring, glute and calf exercises and even ride the exercise bike at the gym. The problem is my physiotherapist and a few months later even my specialist sports doctor misdiagnosed my knee pain as fraying of the meniscus due to arthritis. They also rejected my reports that something changed about 7 or 8 months in to the treatment. It was only after I switched to a different physiotherapist that a second MRI scan was taken and the correct diagnosis and full extent of the meniscus tear was revealed. By then it was beyond the standard you suggest. Besides, age is also a factor in the healing process.
What are taping tips you have
Thank you sir! Im going to try this exercises I hope it will help me recover my ac joint injury 🥲
Just recently tore my meniscus & this video has by far been the most helpful. Thanks
I have hyper mobile joint syndrome, which, as I age, my joints are just not super happy. I dislocate my thumbs so often, and recently set my ac out with heavy shoulder press and chest press 😢 ugh!!
Really phenomenal video. Thank you for making this
Lmk pls
Are these practices why you have it torn or practices after you’ve had surgery?
my recommendations are for after a tear without surgery. If surgery is needed, the program will include post surgical rehab. good luck!
For how many months tenditinitis Last with theropy
I knit. Have no idea if that's caused my tennis elbow but thanks to you I'm going to use my wrist brace instead of the elbow brace. I'm also going to follow what you recommended for helping it heal. Thanks!!
Thank you
Can you get it on both sides? 🤔
I can trace back the original injury to 35 years ago, pulling the dog leash in an external movement. After that, I would trigger it every spring or summer pitching a baseball. Later on swimming front crawl, the recovery stage, became a painful issue. Your explanation of the difference has really helped me understand and identify what my issue is…..including the acute pain increasing during the night! Thank you. I will put treatment suggestion to the test!
Well, the problem with mine is overuse because of my job, but unless somebody can pay me to stay at home and rest, I can’t really stop doing what I’m doing.
Love all your content, finding it so very helpful. Thank you Sir.
My physiotherapist said that the pops could be the result of a damaged ligament, which means that my joint has more space, what do you think about this?
what if my arm is clicking whenever i move my hand
Great super helpful
Where can I buy the tape?
Do I need an MRI or some other diagnostic test for PT ?
Sinyal intensiteleri normaldir. Subdeltoid-subakromiyal bursada ve subkorakoid bursada efüzyon izlenmemiştir. Biseps tendonunun uzun başı bisipital olukta normal çap ve sinyal intensitesinde Olgunun klinik değerlendirilmesi gerekirse ileri tetkik ve takibi önerilir.
normally for impingement i progressively and gradually resume scapular and rotator cuff exercises but initially avoid overhead and chest presses since the subacromial space is narrowed. Often they can be resumed when the shoulder posture is better, which occurs as a result of good scapular and cuff training for 2-3 months. I will be releasing a rotator cuff program within the next month. Good luck
@@focusrehab teşekkürler 🙏
Nice effort. Actually we tie this brace just below the level of tendon /elbow joint to minimize the pulling force on this tendon during muscle use.....and not on the tendon insertion as you hv told. Regards
I tote my miniscus 3 times. This last one is not healing!!!😢 2 years now. Im 69 and 300# trying so hard to lose weight. I was walking a mile a day 2 years ago now im losing all abilities to wslk. This is so scary.
I have had a torn meniscus for 4 years. This is the best video I have come across since then: good explanations, helpful recommendations. The key is patience. Mine acts up every few weeks or months and then takes 5-14 days to settle down, but (so far) settle down it always does. I suspect it work differently for everyone. It's a frustrating injury, but it isn't the worst that can happen either.
Helpful thank you
My husband goes skiing! I just give up on advising😂 I just tore my meniscus while he is working with PT to get his healed. We have lived in three level condo for 24 yrs with many stairs! I go up and down the stairs 20 times A day. I believe our tears came as a result of the stairs and outdoor activities, we are older and our bodies start wearing down but we refuse to give in.
Thank you for posting. I just diagnosed with a medial torn meniscus. Your post was very informative. I start PT tomorrow.
Looking for shoulder exercises. Rotator cuff pain. Thanks
Went to the physio for mainly a knee tendonitis. As treatments progressed he introduced core excercises and also rowing for some reason. Went to him on friday and was made to start rowing immediately for 10 minutes with low resistance. He came by (was busy with another patient) and put the machine on high resistance for a couple of minutes. No warm up whatsoever and jumping immediately into these battle rope exercises. This went on with lunges and other exercises. Saturday I woke up with a sour shoulder and this only aggravated. It's sunday and the pain is really bothering me. Should I ditch this physical therapist? In my opinion this guy doesn't take fatigue into account and he gives exercises back to back just to fill time.
Simple, clear, conscience . To the point! Thanks for the advice
One of the best videos on the use of the Flex bar. For the maint exercises. How many reps should a person for each set? I know you mentioned 2-3 times per week.
thx for watching! i'd start with 10 reps and build up to 15 max. if that's too easy it will be time to progress to a stronger bar
Dear Physiotherapist, i have both tennis elbow and golfer elbow pains since 4 months due to gym exercises i started in 46 years. In 2 months i developed thid. I also feel tendin tension in biceps now. Plz upload a video for this condition where all the arms tendons do pain. Thanks
I have a tear in my Gluteus Minimus - would this work for me?
Very good information, made me understand better. Thanks.
I have biceps tendonitis and Rotator Cuff injury, from a fall. Doctor gave me exercises as tolerated. May go to a PT or Chiropractor for second opinion though. Need specific exercises .
I'm dealing with golfers elbow. Trying to get my twice a day workout figured out. Check on 30 sec isometric hold, 4 reps. How about the reverse tyler twist? Some say 3 sets of 12 reps, 2x daily - sound right? Also, i think the supination bend to a U will help. Reps? No idea
with the addition of the iso holds, i'd back off on sets/reps for the reverse twist to give your body time to adapt, program could look like iso holds twice daily 30 seconds x4; reverse twist 1 set of 10, progress up to 3 sets of 10 as tolerated; supination bend i'd start with the long holds 30 seconds x2, progress to x4, start once daily and up to twice once you've reached 4 reps. good luck!
Hands down! This is the best rehab routine in the entire UA-cam platform.
I'm confused. Shouldn't I stretch the foot out instead of in during the first piece? I can not tell where the second tape should be started/placed. Wish the video was looking down on foot instead of in front.
sorry for the angles, i'll work on better views for future videos! It's normal when using this kind of tape to apply it to a muscle/joint in its stretched position rather than when it is shortened, that's why I've pointed my foot inward. It's not a critical factor though, so it's ok to experiment and do what works best for you. good luck!
@@focusrehab thank you so much for replying. My tape helped pretty well today so I’ll do again tomorrow as it came off during shower. I have a peroneal brevis tear on right foot and it hurts the most when I turn my foot inward. So should I continue to turn my foot in when I tape it? Should it be flexed or pointed? Is there a way to tape so my foot won’t turn in? I really appreciate your time and this video!
@@carolinehenry3844 glad that helped! this particular tape is too stretchy to really limit how much your foot turns in. you'd have to use a stiffer type of tape (leukotape for example or athletic trainers tape) if you really want to control the motion. generally id suggest staying in a comfortable range when you apply it and use a little more tension or double/triple up your layers for more support. good luck!
Which is more likely to cause Tennis elbow, a golf swing, or using the mouse all day?
both can be challenging but on opposite sides of the elbow - the golf swing is the inside of the elbow, the mouse is the outside, and both have unique challenges - golf swing is a problem of too much force when tissues are not strong/adapted, and mouse is a problem of too much repetition with reduced conditioning - a solution for both requires increasing capacity via exercises and changing postures while working frequently (every 30 minutes or so doing elbow/shoulder/wrist exercises and stretches). good luck!
@@focusrehab Thank you for the information, i definately have the issue on the outside of my elbow. I use the mouse 6-7 hours a day and I swing the golf club about 100x daily..trying to figure this out. Its been lingering 8-9 weeks now and hurts!
As a sports therapist that tapes athletes regularly, depending on what type of tape we are using, we are taught not to consecutively wrap around the injury because we run the risk of creating a tourniquette effect which can disrupt blood flow to the limb/ joint / digit. Is this something that is different in climbing taping? Or are you carefully taping wiht less tension to avoid this?
yes exactly, climbers will tape for the duration of the session and then will remove it, and we'll modify the tension to avoid the tourniquette effect - it's pretty easy to do with the fingers, very low risk. thx for watching!
Would you still do these squat variations if you had a painful (degenerative) torn medial meniscus? Or would you actually avoid them? There's such conflicting information on the internet. But I consider you the authority on any type of physiotherapy on the internet so I was wondering your take on these squats if you had a torn meniscus and/or sprained mcl? Thank you for your videos. They are the most helpful I have found!
thx so much for watching! there is definitely more risk in the presence of a tear - I would modify by doing 1/4 to 1/3 depth and not more than 3 days/week initially and watch for any increased pain, swelling or locking/catching. Good luck!
Thanks, good info
This has been the most helpful video I have found on knee pain on the internet. You have such a great way of explaining things. Thank you so much for making this video! It has helped me tremendously!
My lefts shoulders been clicking when I bench for a few weeks now
Same for me have you solved it?
I'm having pain on the muscle over there. It happened on last year football practice. After 1 year i started playing football again and after taking some shots, it starts happening again. Is it curable or won't i able to play football again 😢
@focusrehab What about using BFR? I have severe tendiosis and a partial tear in my quad tendon (started a 4 months months postop from a TKA that hasn't healed at 9 months postop) and this BFR has been recommended.
I'm definitely a BFR fan with the right tools (not elastic or "voodoo" bands, ever), good luck!
@@burkeselbst1776 Thanks. Do you know anyone in Eugene that is an expert at BFR for my kind of case? If not in Corvallis or Salem?
@@be-kind00 not offhand, but the level of PT in Eugene should be pretty good especially in the smaller sports focused clinics. good luck!
Bicycles seem to make my knee pain worse. Is that from the mescus tare or something else?? I have more than one thing going on. I liked the seated elipictal , don't remember the name. Exercise was good for me, but may have not helped with the knee pain.?? Or could it be more strengthing. Always did well on the regular elipictal. Now have alot of extreme pain in knee and somewhere else . Yes exercise does help. But need alot of work. And help.
